Darryl Davenport commenced his journey in Ballroom Dancing at the age of seven, he has emerged as a distinguished dance coach. With a wealth of teaching experience encompassing both group and private lessons, Darryl imparts his knowledge to dancers ranging from beginners to the advanced level. His achievements include multiple titles as a State, Australian, and New Zealand Professional DanceSport Champion, and he takes pride in coaching numerous State and Australian Champions.
Darryl is a registered Professional Coach and Adjudicator with DanceSport Australia, showcasing his commitment to both the art of dance and its competitive aspects. Beyond the realm of competitive dance, he has demonstrated a keen interest in inclusivity. In 2003, he embarked on a journey of teaching movement to disabled students for the Active Foundation. His influence extends to pioneering initiatives such as OUTdance, Perth’s only same-sex not-for-profit class, and coaching the Western Australian Masters Formation Team.
An advocate for inclusivity, Darryl played a pivotal role in introducing Ability Dance, Vision Impaired Dance and Wheelchair Ballroom Dancing (Para Dance) to Western Australia. His extensive experience in various dance competitions and businesses across Australia and New Zealand laid the foundation for his latest venture, ‘Ballroom Fit.’ Through this business, Darryl aims to share the joy of dance and provide inclusive opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities.
Darryl’s community-focused approach is evident in the classes tailored for the elderly and disabled.
